Triazene for Injection

Nitridazole is effective against trypanosomes, piroplasms, and Anaplasma (Ehrlichia) in livestock. After administration, it achieves high concentrations in the blood, though these levels persist only briefly—making it primarily suitable for treatment rather than prevention. Its mechanism of action involves selectively inhibiting DNA synthesis or replication in the kinetoplast of trypanosomes, as well as forming irreversible bonds with the parasite's nucleus. This ultimately leads to the disappearance of the trypanosome’s kinetoplast and prevents it from dividing and multiplying.
