Research and Development Background: After weaning, piglets experience a decline in their ability to fight off diseases due to the absence of maternal antibody supplementation and an immature immune system. Combined with the intense stress associated with weaning and the high prevalence of pathogens on pig farms, this leads to elevated morbidity and mortality rates.
